Longest setting on crank means make the crank itself as long as possible. I still have the kit build insert which I think is the #10.

Hi mate like the photon blog. When you say you used the longest point on the steering crank did you mean the farthest away from the front of the car ? and did you change the insert too.

Unfortunately, first of all the blog got hacked and I forgot to do a proper backup... second of all I tried re-installing Windows on my PC and had a problem with my backup... so I've lost the pics!

From memory, the track in question is quite close to the power wires, is very wide and at a diagonal angle. It was obvious that it had burnt through, and because it was so wide the bridge with braid was very straightforward.

Im having a similar problem with my ESC, same model, and can't see your pics here.
They would be helpful to see if my controller had the same issue.
My issue is it got a splash of water on it when doing a test run.

Hey, fellas u dont know how much money you have saved me.!! i was using a borrowed TEU101BK and i blew it cause i reversed the polarity. i was looking for a replacement and found this thread!!
i followed your instruchions exactly and it works!!!

hahah i saved so much money.

it seems that the way tamiya designed it was that the trach right in the middle will "burst" and repair is easy cause its among all the fat pcb tracks and not the tiny SMT components. soldered a fat wire between the break. Whallah. Magic!!
thank you all!!

Afraid I don't have any Scythe parts to sell.

Photon parts should not be a problem. Much-More UK (the distributors) try to keep everything that is available in stock. Microtech Racing and Reality Racing are a couple of the other shops with Photon parts on the shelf.

All i have to do is start saving now,.lol. Dont suppose you have any scythe parts left to sell do you? What is parts support like for the photon, I know demon do them but does anyone else?

Hi Mark,

The Scythe bones fit on the front of the Photon, however the axles and the couplings are different. In practice, nothing from the Scythe fits apart from general hardware.

How does the Photon compare to the Scythe? Parts quality is better, there are many more possible adjustments, drivetrain is very smooth, the basic handling balance (rubber spec) generates a lot more grip, with a bias towards a little more rear grip than the Scythe. If grip is high, the chassis flexes too much and needs a stiffer top deck as a minimum. I've mentioned elsewhere in my blog that I feel the shocks need a little extra work (or some Tamiya parts) to perform at their best, and the spur gear holder is a little bit mis-dimensioned (but will be sorted when the new Photon-specific spurs come out). It is undoubtedly a good car.

Hi. Notice you have had both the photon (Yours looks beatiful) and the scythe. Dont suppose you know wether the driveshafts from the photon will fit into a scythe. Im running a scythe until i can afford a photon and gonna need new shafts soon. Thanks

Lovely car by the way. How does it compare to the scythe?
