Yes, I believe that choosing your formation based on the opposition formation is the most important way of succeeding tactically in the game - far more important than the nonsense that is individual and opposition instructions (they have very little effect from what I have seen).

I did write a rather lengthy topic on the FM forums - http://community.sigames.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1519717/m/1032042793 - in which I did get a little distracted by some more extreme shapes that I have been unable to test.

I don't have a "suite" that I can post (sorry, very time consuming to do this), however I can give you an indication of a couple of useful shapes that you can apply your own player instructions to.

I mainly played with a system that I was going to call "441+1". The 424 Vaccine above is part of it. In it, you have a basic formation of a goalie and nine outfield players in a 441 (DL,DC,DC,DR;MC,MC;AML,AMR;FC), to which you add your "+1" at either DC, DM, MC or AMC.

Basically you choose where to put the "+1" according to the principles of "Defensive Cover".

If the opponent is playing 424 than you need the +1 to be at DC so you outnumber their forward attacking line. This is also the most effective way of defending against the 442 with long farrows.

If the opponent is playing an AMC "in the hole", you need your +1 at DM.

If the opponent is playing three in central midfield (352 for example), you need your +1 in MC too to give you a chance to win midfield.

The final option is putting your +1 at AMC but you should only do this against weaker teams. You will still get results against weaker teams by playing a more defensive formation anyway.

I could go on about the concepts in this for ages but I have actually stopped playing FM now as the tactical tweaking required for success is too tiresome to make the game fun. But I hope you can get your head around the concept.

Hi there!

I think you're on to something here. I believe there should be a counter tactic for every tactic. Could you please gather all the tactictactoe-tactics you have, make a compressed file and share with please?

Its actually a 70's bike. Theve been made since the 40's, but that model has everything that I would expect a late 70's/very early 80's bike would. I have a 1984 Record and its an updtaed version. Value wise its worth between £70-£100 on e-bay so youve got yourself a bargain. Hope that helps

If I can keep the breakages under control you will see me with a buggy quite often!

Hopefully with a bit more practice I will learn to keep those round rubber things on the ground instead of sliding around on the roof.

Will we be seeing you at more off road meetings now????

I have exactly the same bike. Bought it for £70 though.
Trying to figure out the same thing as you, no result yet but it seems like a quality bike.

You should always use a servo saver unless you can afford to replace your servo regularly.

Personally speaking I always use Futaba as I feel they are the best quality on the market, even the basic models.
